This week in the classroom portion, students learned what to do if someone is having problems swimming or if it looks like they are drowning. They learned about items that would be helpful in saving a person and also items that may look helpful, but are not. Students also learned how to position their bodies when trying to help someone and the importance of buddy swimming was also discussed. Ask your child about some of these things.
Then, in the pool, students got a chance to try to save a friend who was pretending to be drowning. They took it very seriously, as they practiced.
