What a wonderful day we had! I got such a kick out of the kids' costumes! We started our day off rotating to the different third grade classrooms. While Miss Walley (Hermoine) did an awesome paperbag fall tree craft, I sneaked out to take pictures of our two classes in the other classrooms. There was Halloween Bingo, a fun Halloween movement activity, and a monster craft. Students then made a frame for our class Halloween picture that they will have as a keepsake. We also learned some Halloween trivia, read aloud some Halloween picture books, and feasted while we watched a movie. Thank you to all who contributed to our feast. Below is a slideshow from our day. There were just too many pictures to post!

I love reading parties! Walking around and hearing kids so excited about books and seeing them enjoying reading time is the best. First, students got settled and could buddy read. Then students read for 45 minutes completely by themselves and silent. They did awesome! Before recess, we did some read aloud and more buddy reading. What a fun morning!
We then got out the paints and chalk and made some owls. I love how creative this bunch of kids is! What artists!
Here are some of the free books we were able to order with the bonus points earned from our last book order. The kids are so very excited!
Thank you! Camryn captivated his audience as he presented his poster. He did a super job at being the super hero last week! Way to go Camryn!
Last week Dylan could be seen walking the halls with his cape billowing behind him. Dylan is always safe, responsible, and respectful. Thank you super Dylan!
I ran across this website that had a great list of funny books for kids. Many books are in a series, which is awesome because if a kid gets hooked on a series, they can get hooked on reading for life as they read through that series, they begin to see themselves as readers. Take a peek when you get a chance and visit your local library, book store, or shop on amazon for some of these. A book order will be coming home soon, but many of these series are not sold through Scholastic.
