Yesterday and today we wrapped up March is Reading Month by having a Read in your Pajamas Party and having Donuts for Dads and Moms. It has been a wonderful month. I can't believe it's over already!

We finished reading the book Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. The kids seemed to really enjoy it. I wanted to show them this picture of Kate with an original artwork by the illustrator of the book. This picture never made it into the book, but it is Despereaux on the edge of the dungeon steps, contemplating going down to the deep, deep downs to rescue the princess. He had just lost his spool of thread.
Today we are watching the movie and writing an opinion piece about which is better, the book or the movie. |
