We were on our way to the high school this morning, when Mr. Henderson called me and said that the balloon people would rather have us meet in our gym because of the weather. Balloons really shouldn't get too wet. So, the field trip was a little different than planned because the balloon didn't reach full size and lift off the ground. However, they students still learned a lot and got to enjoy touching, seeing, and even walking in the balloon. Thanks for visiting Remax!

Tommy proudly wore the super hero cape, read us a book, and was a responsible, respectful, and safe super hero. Thanks, Tommy!
Leslie could be seen throughout the school wearing her cape and being a responsible, respectful, and safe hero. Way to go, Leslie!
Today we begin our mystery series book clubs! This is a favorite among students and it normally hooks them onto a series to finish up during the summer. Perfect! During this unit students will take responsibility in working with a group to set their reading plan for how many chapters they are going to read, discussing their books with their book club to help them and others think deeply about what is being read, be on the look out for clues and red herrings, and to make predictions about what is going to happen. Students will be assessed by themselves and their book club members on being prepared with having the day's reading complete and participating in discussions.
Hopefully, you child will enjoy being a detective! This month we have learned a lot about lumbering, been "interrupted" by many good readers, and enjoyed many good books. To wrap up Reading Mobth, we had a read in your pajama party. Mr. Henderson also put together a 50s dance party and a root beer float treat. While the kids were dancing, I got a call from my daycare that one of my kids were sick, so I had to leave before wishing everyone a fun and safe spring break. It was hard! I hope everyone is enjoying their break! Mr. Henderson poses with some fifties kids.
