But, that doesn't mean we haven't been doing some SUPER learning! Friday, we had our official "Dress like a Lumberjack " day. It was great to see all the beards and mustaches, especially on the third grade teachers. Students have really taken advantage of interrupting us with a good book. They sign up for a day where they have to stand up in the middle of class (as long as we aren't testing) and shout, "I interrupt with a good book!" Then, we all stop what we are doing, make our way to the group spot, and listen to them read a book to us for seven minutes. I love listening to all the different books during the month.
We've been doing a lot of essay writing to get the students in the habit of including a introduction that hooks readers, parallel structure, and a strong conclusion. This week, we started our informational unit. I love this unit! Students have so much to teach me- everything from horses to cheering, fishing to baseball.
We have had many awesome super heroes and I will be sure to post those pictures and other pictures when I get my phone figured out!
Until then, try to check back. I won't go so long before another update.
