Our last day before Christmas break was filled with crafts, reading Christmas books, and playing reindeer games. I cherish these moments with your kids as I watch their excitement and smiles. We finished up a project that was an introduction to opinion writing. Students had to fill out a plan sheet or graphic organizer to organize their introduction, reasons, examples, and conclusion as to why Santa should hire them as an elf. Some students had some very creative and hilarious reasons. Having no snow outside didn't stop us from having a fun snowball fight. We had one in our classroom! I have a lot of fake snowballs that are just the perfect size. The students were divided into teams for the candy cane race. They had to move a candy cane from one end of their line to the other end without using their hands to touch the candy cane. They could only use another candy cane. If they dropped it, they had to start over. Next the kids got to wear some funky darkened glasses, get spun around and had to pin the nose on the reindeer. I got a lot of laughs watching this! Time for our delicious feast. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this celebration! The kids were able to enjoy some wonderful treats. Thank you for all the wonderful gifts I was showered with. They were so thoughtful and I felt very loved. I hope you enjoy this season with your family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
