We were practicing our spelling sorts by have three rounds of speed sorting and then writing out our sort. The first round finished. The students were quiet. The second round finished an the students were still quiet. Each student finishes sorting at a different time. They are supposed to look up at the stopwatch as soon as they finish their sort and record their time. As difficult as it may be, they are supposed to remain silent as their friends finish up their sorting. My afternoon class did an amazing job at staying quiet while their friends finished. This is so respectful and should be recognized! Sometimes, the kids are recognized with a class wildcat hero ticket. Sometimes they are recognized with a power pellet (super hero candy). Other times they are recognized by having a Frisbee fight with fun music and foam Frisbees. It is always difficult to capture in pictures as the students wiggle and move around the room gathering frisbees and tossing them back into the air, but I got a few pictures to try to show you. Well done, kids!
