They gave this a score of 1 based on the rubric
This was just a practice. Your child will write a personal narrative for part of their report card score tomorrow.
On the last post I mentioned the prompt that students were writing to. As a reminder, the prompt was write a personal narrative about a time you or someone you knew felt good about themselves. These are just a few samples I received from the students. We discussed how we would score each one after we looked at the rubric. Students had conversations at their table about what score they would give each of these and why. They gave this a score of 1 based on the rubric They gave this a score of 2 based on the rubric. They decided this was a 3. And here is a 4. We discussed how a 4 is above and beyond. A 3 is right where they should be. After going over the rubric, scoring some examples, and highlighting parts on their rubric of where they think they are, students gave their own writing a score. Students then had to fill out the above slip and put in to words where they think they are now and how are they going to improve their writing for next time.
This was just a practice. Your child will write a personal narrative for part of their report card score tomorrow.
