Students are about in the middle of their mystery books. With their books clubs, students decided on a name for their club, created a plan for what pages/chapters to read for each day in order to get their book done in exactly five days, and they have had discussions about what they read. With book clubs, students read independently and then come together for discussions every day before reading the next chunk of the book. Students are finding just how important it is to keep up on their reading, or they will be left behind in the discussions. |
Students are using vocabulary like detective, alibi, suspects, witnesses, and red herring. If you get a chance, ask your child about the book he/she is reading.
