Students have been working hard in this unbearable heat! They have used all their research notes to write paragraphs in their flapbooks. To do this, students had to group like information together by highlighting information about the same topic, like food, habitat, sleep habits, etc. Students did their best artwork to decorate each cover of each flap. They have a flap for characteristics, habits, care, and interesting facts. Students needed to begin each section with a main idea, and they needed to make sure to group like things together into their paragraphs. They did a fabulous job! Next week, students will be practicing their persuasive skills to write their parents a letter convincing them to buy the pet. Students will have to use some of their research in their letters supporting their opinion and showing their knowledge of what taking care of the pet would entail. The letter, research notes, and flapbook will all come home together.
