Students worked well in groups of two or three as they created a poster for a visual aid to use during their presentations. I was so impressed by how well students worked together. I didn't hear anyone being bossy or see anyone sit back and let the others do all the work. Students were responsible for writing out what they researched into paragraphs in cursive. They wrote them on index cards so that they could use them during their presentations. Students then had to get together and decided what was going to be on their posters and who was going to present what and in what order. Groups presented their information about their Michigan animal to another group. They were fabulous presentations and students were able to get a lot of voice into their non fiction writing! Way to go go, kids!
